Role Description

This role is a contract assignment at Palo Alto Networks. Contractors will not be employed by Palo Alto Networks but through our trusted staffing partners.  

Palo Alto Networks is looking for a Sales Communications Manager to join our team. As a member of the Sales Communications team, this professional will play a critical role and work cross-functionally to ensure the most important information is conveyed to the global sales organization in a timely and concise manner.  The role will specifically focus on the needs of our Sales organization.

The right candidate for this role will be collaborative, proactive, and enjoy learning - this is not a role for someone uncomfortable learning new subject matter, audiences, or tools. This is a fast-paced organization and the right candidate will need to switch hats between the strategic and the tactical with ease. We’re looking for someone who is an independent worker, but who chooses to work very closely with the team and the extended business partners. The ideal candidate will also be able to be flexible, with comfort writing/creating emails, social media posts, presentations, and intranet pages using our suite of collaboration technologies. Supporting this role will be a small team that loves to share ideas, help each other succeed, and have fun.

  • Location - Santa Clara, CA (Hybrid - Working from office 3X a week)
  • Duration -  6 months 

Your Impact:

  • This role will have overall responsibility for building awareness about programs, teams, and other information on behalf of the Sales and GTM organization.
  • You will develop a deep understanding of key stakeholders and objectives of the organization as well as their primary audiences in order to make recommendations that take their internal communications to the next level.
  • You will manage communications needs that arise, including emails, Slack messages, intranet pages, simple graphics, and more to support the rest of the team.
  • As needed, you will support highly visible change management efforts (through communications) along with cross-functional teams throughout the organization.
  • You will share communications best practices with the team at large and push for fresh, innovative communications strategies and tactics.

Your Experience

  • 5-10 years working in internal communications or marketing, preferably within or serving the Sales team of a B2B technology company.
  • Versatile communications skills are a must, including experience building communications strategies, creating written content for a variety of purposes, and disseminating information via email, Slack, and intranet.
  • Comfort developing content across formats is essential, as you may need to switch frequently from writing long-form content to short, pithy newsletter articles and developing beautiful slideware.  
  • Understanding of Sales teams and how they operate is highly desirable but not required.
  • High degree of flexibility, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Creative and fearless when it comes to re-thinking the status quo – always looking for ways to improve how we communicate with and engage audiences.
  • Highly desirable: Experience with Google Suite, Slack, Zoom webinars, Workshop (or other email automation tools), Lumapps.

 

Compensation

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location.  For candidates who receive an offer,this is the pay range that Magnit (the staffing agency) reasonably expects to pay for this position: $65/hour to $70/hour. Please note that the compensation information in this posting reflects the hourly wage only and does not include benefits.  Magnit offers Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K.
